28mm Wide-Angle Panasonic Lens

The 28mm wide-angle lens is especially convenient for recording indoors or in tight spaces, making it possible to shoot at a close distance from the subject while fitting both the subject and surrounding area into the frame. The High Sensitivity Sensor, coupled with O.I.S., makes it possible to record beautiful images in very dim light. The wide-angle setting also captures beautiful images of wide landscapes and allows large groups of people to fit into the frame, making it highly versatile for use in all kinds of situations.

21x Optical Zoom and Hybrid O.I.S. + (Optical Image Stabilizer)

The HC-V700M features a 21x optical zoom to catch dynamic shots of distant objects with the long telephoto end of the zoom range. And because the zoom is optical, there's limited image degradation. Also, Hybrid O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) helps prevent blurring - typically a big concern when shooting with a telephoto lens. This combination of optical zoom and Hybrid O.I.S. gives you the ability to take fantastic zoom shots even in less than ideal lighting conditions. Intelligent Zoom can capture beautiful pictures beyond the ordinary 38x optical zoom and up to a high-powered 46x zoom.

Crystal Engine PRO

The Crystal Engine PRO instantly processes the huge amount of data that goes into Full-HD images, and further enhances Full-HD quality. It produces smooth, high-resolution zoom shots even when the range exceeds the limit for optical zooming. Crystal Engine PRO clearly delineates even the tiniest details of your subject, with extremely natural beauty. In addition, its Noise Reduction (NR) technology has been completely redesigned. The low-frequency noise that occurs when recording in dim lighting has been further minimized. 1080/60p (50p) Recording

1080/60p (50p) recording (Full-HD, 1,920 x 1,080, 60 (50) progressive recording) conveys about twice the information of 1080i (interlace) recording. Fast-moving subjects, such as in sports scenes, are smoothly recorded. The progressive recording of the V700/V700M fully complies with the AVCHD Progressive standard.

iFrame Mode

The V700/V700M lets you record videos in the iFrame. With iFrame, the video in your camera is the same format you'll edit, so it's fast to import and edit with compatible video editing software. iFrame is based on standards, so it works with a number of applications – such as iMovie.

New Zoom Mic and Wind Noise Canceller:

The Zoom Mic function links the microphones to the lens action. When you zoom in on a subject, the microphones focus on the sound in that same direction. By suppressing the noise on both side of the camera, its performance improves 3 dB. The Wind Noise Canceller automatically detects and suppresses only wind noise. It lets you capture natural sounds with lifelike ambience even when shooting in windy conditions outdoors or by the sea.

Still Picture Recording at 6.1MP:

Still Picture Recording mode lets you shoot with a maximum resolution of 6.1 megapixels.* You can also simultaneously record still images and video at 5.8 megapixels

3D Image Recording with 3D Conversion Lens

Simply mounting the optional 3D Conversion Lens to the V700/V700M enables easy 3D shooting.* The 3D Conversion Lens is smaller than the one for last year's models, and its brightness has also been increased from F3.3 to F2.4.

3.0" Wide LCD (460,800-dot) with Intuitive Touch Operation

Features advanced new touch-operation functions that allow for extremely smooth shooting and playback, including: Touch Zoom--Swiftly zoom in or out with the touch or swipe of the finger; and Touch Shutter--Focus and take a digital photo by touching the subject on the screen.

iA (Intelligent Auto):

iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode with Face Recognition selects the most suitable shooting mode with the press of a button. Face Recognition finds the faces of registered people (up to six faces) and optimizes the focus and exposure for them. The camcorder continues to track this subject as the person moves anywhere within the frame.

Advanced Highlight Playback

The Advanced Highlight Playback Function is designed for users who want to view recorded images as quickly as possible. This feature uses the I.I.S. (Intelligent Index System) to detect zooming, panning, scene changes, and faces in recorded images as "highlights." It then automatically plays back the detected highlight scenes, or ones that the user has personally selected. It also offers playback effects such as Slow, Fading Still Image, and Flash Playback.

2D to 3D Conversion

The HC-V700M can convert 2D images recorded by the user into 3D images for stunning effects. It can also record 3D images using an optional 3D lens.

1-sec Quick Power-On / 0.6-sec Quick Start

Switch the power on and the HD camcorders are in standby mode in approx. 1 second,* ready to shoot when you are. When the LCD is closed, the power automatically switches off. This fast startup and automatic shutdown also help reduce battery consumption. Using Quick Start mode, you simply flip open the LCD and you're ready to shoot in just 0.6 seconds.* When Eco mode is also used, the power turns off whenever the camcorder has not been operated for 5 minutes. This reduces wasted power consumption, and enables a longer battery life.

LED Video Light

When the camera determines that the ambient lighting is insufficient, it automatically switches the light on. This illuminates your subject for shooting. The LED (light emitting diode) has low power consumption, a long service life, and the safety of a low operating temperature.
