Description

The Panasonic AG-AC160A is an upgrade version of the AG-AC160 camera. In addition to all the features of the AG-AC160, this AG-AC160A camera adds the ability to record in both 60p and 50p, an expanded focus assist functionality, and a "turbo speed" one-push auto focus function.

The advantages this AG-AC160A has over the AG-AC130A is the ability to record in both 60p and 50p, variable frame rate recording in 1080p for slow and fast motion recording, Linear PCM audio, and an HD-SDI output.

The AG-AC160A AVCCAM HD handheld camcorder offers a high-sensitivity 1/3", full-HD 2.2 megapixel U.L.T. (Ultra Luminance Technology) 3-MOS imager to capture native 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 AVCHD utilizing the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec. Coupling a 22X zoom lens with three independent adjustable rings (zoom, focus and iris), recordings look clean and crisp, without image degradation or dropouts and cover most shooting situations without the need for a wide-angle conversion lens.

The AC160A records video in four professional AVCCAM HD recording modes, including the highest-quality PH mode (average 21 Mbps/Max 24Mbps), the HA mode (approx.17 Mbps), the extended recording HE mode (approx. 6 Mbps) and a PM mode (approx. 8 Mbps, 720p only), which is ideal for shooting sports training and web video. With two SD Memory Card slots for relay or simultaneous recording, the AC160A can record up to 12 hours on two 64GB SD cards in PH mode, with automatic clip spanning across the two cards. In addition to SDXC and SDHC cards, the AC160A supports Panasonic's new SDHC full Class 10 UHS-1 (Ultra High Speed) Memory Cards, with transfer rates of 90MBs - 4-1/2 times as fast as the previous generation of SDHC media.

	Exceptional Recording Flexibility: The AG-AC160A records at 60Hz in the following HD formats in PH mode: 1080/59.94i, 1080/29.97p, 1080/23.98pN, 720/59.94p, 720/29.97p and 720/23.98pN. In HA and HE modes, it records in 1080/59.97i, while in DV, these solid-state units record at 480/59.94i, 480/29.97p, 480/223.98p.
	Addittional Recording Options: The AC160A also records in 1080/50i and 1080/25p, 720/50p and 720/25p, and 576/50i and 576/25p.
	New Focus Assist Functions: In addition to conventional focus-in-red assist, improved functionality in the AC160A includes expanded focus assist and "turbo speed" one-push autofocus. Focus assist enables the camera to zoom in on the picture to check focus. Turbo-speed one-push auto focus ensures that the camcorder quickly attains focus.
	Create Fast and Slow Motion Effects: The camera provides 22-step variable frame rate capability in 1080/23.98pN, 29.97p and 25p to support undercranking/overcranking for fast or slow motion effects. The AC160A offers variable frame rate recording in 1080p.
	Extended Record Times: Record for up to 12 hours on two 64GB SDB cards in PH mode, with automatic clip spanning across the two cards. In 6Mbps HE mode, the AC160A can record for up to 48 hours.
	Versatility in Professional Interfaces: The AC160A offers a range of professional interfaces, including an HD-SDI output, HDMI output (AVCHD only), USB 2.0 (mini B-type), IEEE 1394 output (DV only), and a built-in stereo microphone.
